Keker & Van Nest partner Susan Harriman has become a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, widely considered the premiere professional trial organization in the United States. Harriman was admitted to the College before an audience of more than 600 people at the organization’s 2010 spring meeting in Palm Desert, Calif.

Founded in 1950, the College strives to improve and elevate the standards of trial practice, the administration of justice and the ethics of the trial profession.

Fellowship in the College is extended by invitation only to experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. There are currently 5,752 members in the U.S. and Canada, including active Fellows, Emeritus Fellows, Judicial Fellows (who ascended to the bench after their induction) and Honorary Fellows. Harriman joins fellow partners John Keker and Robert Van Nest, who are already members of the College.

Harriman, a graduate of UC Hastings College of the Law, joined Keker & Van Nest in 1985 and became a partner in 1989. She focuses her practice on complex business litigation, including contract, trade secret, real estate, professional malpractice and employment cases.
