The Daily Journal has named Keker & Van Nest partners Susan Harriman and Jan Little to its 2011 list of Top Women Lawyers in California.

Ms. Harriman was recognized for her work representing M&H Realty Partners, a real estate investment firm, in a multimillion dollar tort and breach of indemnification dispute with Aerojet and Boeing. M&H Realty sued the two defense contractors, asserting that they should pay for the environmental cleanup at a site they previously owned; Ms. Harriman won a $15 million settlement for her client. Putting together a settlement that involved future interaction between the parties was a challenge, Ms. Harriman told The Daily Journal. '‘'Fortunately, counsel on all sides got along well and worked well together for a settlement that, in the end, all parties were happy with.’”

The publication highlighted Ms. Little’s work on behalf of Western Union Financial Services. After more than a year of negotiations, Ms. Little helped Western Union resolve a criminal grand jury investigation into money transfers in the Southwest Border region. The publication also highlighted Ms. Little’s work representing DLA Piper in a bankruptcy court action related to the dissolution of Heller Ehrman LLP. “‘She is tough when she needs to be and diplomatic when she needs to be,’” Neil J. Dilloff, DLA partner and in-house counsel, told the paper. “She gets results, and she gets them in a timely, efficient fashion. Those are all the attributes that everybody ought to ask for in a lawyer, but they’re rare.’”
