The American Lawyer selected a Keker, Van Nest & Peters trial team as Litigator of the Week Runners-Up for winning the acquittal of John Wessman, a real estate developer in Coachella Valley. The team includes Elliot Peters, Steven Ragland, Cody Gray, and Jacqueline Concilla.
The firm has been fighting the government’s allegations against Wessman since 2017, after he was accused of a bribery scheme involving the former Palm Springs mayor and another developer. A Riverside County jury acquitted Wessman of all charges on June 16, after a four-week trial.
