With the closing of the calendar year and the start of a new one, a Law360 Pulse article featuring law firm leaders includes reflections from Keker Managing Partner Laurie Carr Mims on the challenges and priorities shaping 2026.

Mims looked back at a busy 2025 shaped by major trials and high-profile client matters, including work for OpenAI. She emphasized that the firm is especially proud of the stand it took against efforts by the Trump administration to target the legal industry, underscoring the critical role lawyers play during what she described as an unprecedented moment for the justice system.

"This is an unprecedented time and a time where being part of the legal industry is very important," she said. "Things that we previously took for granted about our government and our judicial system have been under attack, and we're feeling that."

Turning to what lies ahead, Mims highlighted the importance of protecting Keker’s collaborative culture and single-office identity while continuing to compete with larger firms. She also pointed to the firm’s ongoing succession to a new generation of lead partners, alongside continued exploration of how AI can support the firm’s work without compromising its core values.
