Keker, Van Nest & Peters has filed an amicus brief signed by more than 20 former United States District Court judges in opposition to Michael Flynn’s petition to have the Washington D.C. Circuit Court order the district court to grant the government’s motion to dismiss the charges against Flynn. Written by KVP Of Counsel Dan Jackson, the brief supports District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan’s authority and discretion to decide whether the charges against Flynn should be dismissed.
The amici included in the brief formerly served on district courts throughout the nation, having been appointed to those courts by administrations of both parties. Many of these judges served as United States Attorneys, including Hon. D. Lowell Jensen who was Deputy Attorney General of the United States. Furthermore, some also served on federal and state appellate courts and higher. Their common interest is unified by their dedication to the integrity and independence of the courts.
