Keker, Van Nest & Peters partner Franco Muzzio was recognized in the Daily Journal’s Top 40 Under 40 list, an annual publication that recognizes the top lawyers in California under the age of 40.
As detailed in the publication, Franco has had a leading role in several significant cases centered on disputes over contracts. He is currently defending secure networking company Fortinet in a month-long trial involving fraud and breach of warranty claims. Franco is leading the damages portion of the case at trial.
Last year, Franco helped secure a critical victory in a lawsuit on behalf of Oregon State University that determined the future of the Pac-12 Conference. Franco and the KVP team obtained a preliminary injunction that allowed Oregon State University and Washington State University to retain control of the Pac-12 after other member schools announced their intended departures from the conference. Franco has also successfully represented leading technology companies like LinkedIn and Netflix in major litigation.
Franco maintains an active pro bono practice. In partnership with the Center for Justice and Accountability, he and KVP represent the family members of four political prisoners massacred during Argentina's military dictatorship in the 1970s. The case is currently on appeal in the 11th Circuit.
