BASF selected eight outstanding members to receive its Award of Merit, including Keker & Van Nest Partner Steve Hirsch. Mr. Hirsch co-chairs BASF’s Amicus Curiae Committee. He has been instrumental in vetting requests for amicus participation to assist the board in determining when BASF might become involved as an amicus in current litigation. He helped provide such analysis in various cases vetted by BASF and then coordinated with the authors of briefs to ensure that the briefs reflect BASF’s positions. Mr. Hirsch has also provided clear and concise guidance on requests for amicus involvement in a number of cases involving complicated legal issues.
