Steven Ragland will speak at the Los Angeles session on May 20. He has extensive experience in a broad range of criminal defense and complex civil litigation matters. Mr. Ragland has represented individuals and companies facing criminal allegations ranging from securities, mail, and wire fraud to drug and terrorism offenses. In the civil realm, he has successfully represented clients in breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, legal malpractice, defamation, trade secret misappropriation, contract interference, unfair business practice, and civil rights matters.

Laurie Mims will speak at the San Francisco session on May 26. She litigates complex civil and white collar criminal matters for institutional and individual clients in a wide range of industries, including health care, biotechnology, financial services, software development, venture capital and telecommunications. She has successfully defended these clients from claims involving the False Claims Act, the Anti-Kickback Act, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, theft of trade secrets, employment discrimination, copyright and trademark. She has also represented individuals in matters with the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Department of Justice, as well as numerous national law firms in professional negligence cases.
