Leah Plachinski represents clients in all facets of commercial litigation. Prior to joining Keker, Van Nest & Peters, Leah served as a law clerk to Judge Robert J. Jonker of the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan and Judge James B. Loken of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
Leah earned her law degree from Stanford Law School. She received the highest pro bono distinction for her extensive commitment to community service, which included teaching classes on substantive and procedural criminal law to incarcerated youth at the San Mateo County Youth Services Center. While in law school, she served as an extern to Judge Kate M. Menendez of the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota and a legal intern for the Office of the State Appellate Defender in Illinois.
Before embarking on her legal career, Leah worked as an associate economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. She earned her bachelor’s degree summa cum laude in economics from Wellesley College.
Leah is admitted to practice in Illinois. She is not admitted to practice law in California, and her practice is supervised by partners of the firm admitted in California.
