Abbey Flynn

Associate

Abbey Flynn focuses her practice on complex civil litigation and criminal defense. Before joining Keker, Van Nest & Peters, she served as an Associate Deputy Public Defender with the Alameda County Public Defender’s Office, where she represented clients facing misdemeanor and felony charges. As a public defender, she served as the lead attorney in multiple jury trials and dozens of preliminary hearings. She previously clerked for Chief Judge Richard Seeborg of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and Judge Richard A. Paez of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Abbey earned her law degree at UC Berkeley School of Law, where she participated in the school’s Death Penalty Clinic and Youth Defender Clinic, and was co-president of the Criminal Defense Society. Prior to her legal career, Abbey was a Research Associate with the Justice Policy Center at the Urban Institute.
