Jonhatan represents clients in a broad range of civil and criminal matters. His practice includes trial and appellate advocacy. Prior to joining Keker, Van Nest & Peters, Jonhatan clerked for U.S. Circuit Judge Nancy L. Moritz of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He also clerked for U.S. District Judge Xavier Rodriguez of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas and U.S. Magistrate Judge Nancy J. Koppe of the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada.

Jonhatan earned his J.D. from the University of California, Irvine School of Law. While in law school, he externed for U.S. District Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California and U.S. Magistrate Judge Cheryl L. Pollak of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. He also was a student in the Ninth Circuit Appellate Litigation Clinic, where he represented clients in intellectual-property and immigration-relief disputes.

Before law school, Jonhatan was an assistant to President and General Counsel Thomas A. Saenz of the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund. He also worked as a paralegal at the Federal Defenders of New York and an intern investigator at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia. Jonhatan received his B.A. in American Studies from Yale University. He is fluent in Spanish.
